Here's a picture of Emmy Ruth. My Mom and I are going to Addis Ababa (the capital) for four days. Our director is coming from America and we hope to do some sight-seeing. My birthday was Friday...I turned 10 years old. We had cake, cookies and sodas...it was lots of fun. Talk to you soon.

Thankfulness...

My thankfulness post will be about the food here.

I do not like the food so much… If you have read my mom’s blog, you would see the post “No Picky Eaters Here“. Sometimes I am ungrateful for what I have to eat. My complaint after being here a few weeks was, “Why does the food have to be cold”. I said it out loud too. Ungrateful me… I needed to be thankful for what I did have to eat. Without it, I knew I would starve to death or have to eat wat and injera every meal. Not my favorite… Whoops being ungrateful again…hehe… We get bread and tea for breakfast. Usually pasta and bread for lunch and soup or potatoes for dinner. Sometimes I’ll eat wat or rice with the children. I am trying to be more thankful for what I have.

Love you all a lot,

Football?

Ethiopian football is not American football. It is soccer. Well I was playing football with the children yesterday. I’m not so good, so I tried to stay at the goal. But when I had to go out to the game and play I went and tried my very best. Well I did play soccer when I was maybe 5 or 6. I really did not even get the ball and it made me unhappy. Now I know that you have to try your best. Above is a picture of our soccer ball. I hope you will leave a comment to let me know you stopped by.

Boochie Update

Boochie is fine. She has been getting into some trouble lately. Well she has been getting off her rope which I would not mind in America but here there are people that are scared of her. They say that they want to open the door and let her off and put her outside the gate, which I do not agree with. She’s eating well. It’s still not the right nutrients that she needs. Got to go she is getting off right now.

Two Camels

I walked out the gate with my friend Musulu. We were going to get bread. When we turned on to the right road we saw to camels with coal on their backs. We waited for them to pass then we walked the rest of the way behind them to the store. I wish you were here to see. And that I had a picture to show you.

November update...

God is amazing! We have 6 more kids with a court date! The date is November 13th. They have gone to Addis Ababa already and it is quiet without them. But God has a plan for their life in America! I will just have to deal with it. My mom says that we need to wait and see who comes to take their place. But it still makes me sad to see the kids go.

Gifts: If you are looking for a Christmas present look at these sites. They have some cool things.

I hope you find some good gifts.

Pray: If you need prayer, let me know at kenkenyoung@gmail.com We need to pray for the 6 children with court dates, that they pass. If we trust God He will make sure they pass. Please join me to pray for a little girl named Mattie in America who is very sick with Leukemia. Please pray that we will stay healthy and that the homeless people (and animals) outside our gate find a place to live.
